Devin hofmann

Hi, I’m Devin Hofmann!

My love for cars started at a young age — hearing the lope of muscle cars and the turbo spool of tuner builds instantly hooked me. I wanted to understand everything about how cars work and how to make them faster.

I volunteered at shops to learn hands-on skills, then earned my Mechanical Engineering Technology Associate’s Degree from Augusta Technical College, where I also designed car parts for local race shops as a hobby. That hobby evolved into building and racing my own car — a 2015 Subaru STi — in grassroots Time Attack. Today, I partner with brands to test and develop performance parts on track.

Along the way, I joined BMW Manufacturing as a Lean Manufacturing Engineer, working in testing and analysis for new products. This inspired me to continue my education, and I earned my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

My passion for physics, data, and racing has taken me trackside with teams across NASA, WRL, IGT, Porsche Sprint Challenge, and Trans Am TA2 — contributing as a pit crew member, mechanic, and data engineer. I now balance my career as a Lead Mechanical Engineer at GE Gas Turbine with chasing my grassroots racing dream: Devine Force Racing.

Through Devine Force Racing, I aim to inspire and educate — sharing technical articles with Subimods and MotoIQ, and partnering with Next Engineers to bridge the gap between classroom lessons and real-world engineering and racing. I collaborate with brands to create content that’s relatable, inspiring, and focused on pushing parts and ideas to their limits on track.

Outside of racing and engineering, I’m passionate about food — I’m proudly food-motivated and love sharing how I fuel my busy life with my favorite meals. I also practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, enjoying both the mental and physical challenges that complement my work on track.

subimods

Title partner

Subimods helps provides me and the team with the parts we need for racing and for show car events. They also support overlanding builds too if you're into that. Subimods and I attend Subifest as well as other Subaru events together where we get to hang out with the subie gang from all over the nation and answer build questions. I currently write technical articles with Subimods and hope to educate consumers on how things work, what application they work best for - best part is Subimods sells all the parts we talk about as well as most parts on my build too!

Liquimoly

race partner

Starting in 2025 Liqui Moly will help provide all fluids (trans and engine), to keep the Subaru running as efficiently as possible.
